Early retirement of the Chief Sales Officer; focus on additional business areas, prestige/niche segment to be reinforced and internationalisation expanded

Stolberg, 10 July 2025. Mäurer & Wirtz announces staff changes: Marc Schütz, Chief Sales Officer, responsible for the management of worldwide sales of Mäurer & Wirtz, has left the company by mutual agreement as per 30 June 2025. He is taking early retirement but will continue to be available to Mäurer & Wirtz in a consultative capacity. “We would like to thank Marc Schütz for his commitment and achievements in recent years. He made a major contribution to the success and effective development of our company,” stated Stephan Kemen, CEO of Mäurer & Wirtz.

The track-record established in the past functions as the basis for future growth

Mäurer & Wirtz has achieved a number of important milestones in recent years and has also set itself ambitious growth targets. Future focal points call for targeted expansion in key international markets development of additional business areas and reinforcement of the niche and prestige segment. The company is already active in 100 countries, and its portfolio has been diversified: the company’s 17 fragrance brands include not only successful lifestyle fragrances, but also premium and niche brands such as Baldessarini Fragrances, 4711 Acqua Colonia Collection Absolue and Les Destinations. With its multi-facetted brand portfolio, Mäurer & Wirtz is Germany’s number 1 fragrance producer and is also ranked among Europe’s top 10 fragrance manufacturers. In recent years Mäurer & Wirtz has made a name for itself with innovative fragrance concepts customised for various distribution channels, defined target groups or specific brands. “While retaining the flexibility of a local player, we are transforming ourselves into a leading global player. In a process such as this it is essential to combine the courage of an entrepreneur with systematic alignment to customers’ needs and market trends”, Stephan Kemen reports.

Setting the strategic course for the coming years

Given the rapidly changing market conditions, Mäurer & Wirtz is also setting a course for further growth in terms of sales. “Although we have an extremely strong market position in Germany, we also see immense growth potential in international markets. It is essential here to extend our position systematically in defined key markets. But we will also occupy new business areas – with our ground-breaking influencer fragrance brands, sustainability initiatives, successful live commerce concepts and exclusive niche fragrances we have already proved that in addition to the expertise that comes from 180 years’ experience as a company, we also possess the necessary capacity for innovation,” declared Stephan Kemen. Mäurer & Wirtz is currently setting standards in the prestige and niche fragrance segment – the luxury Collection Absolue of 4711 Acqua Colonia recently received the highest German Brand Award. Thanks to its clear strategic orientation, vision and flexibility, Mäurer & Wirtz is resolutely pursuing its course for growth, even in the face of difficult market conditions.
