Mäurer & Wirtz wins the Oscar of the beauty industry with its Acqua Colonia Intense fragrance series

Stolberg, 11 February 2020 – A long-lasting fragrance experience with high perfumery standards that transports you to extraordinary worlds and creates entire landscapes – this is the secret of the exquisite Acqua Colonia Intense fragrance series, launched in autumn 2019 and consisting of four different, extremely complex fragrance compositions. They convinced not only the many perfume lovers who made the series such a hit, but also the jury of Cosmopolitan magazine: it awarded the olfactory quartet with the prestigious Prix de Beauté in the "Premium Women's Fragrance" category.

Coveted diamond
Once a year, the lifestyle magazine awards the Prix de Beauté for the most outstanding and innovative beauty products in the international cosmetics industry. A panel of specialists consisting of dermatologists, cosmetics experts and editors-in-chief as well as a jury of readers select the winners from hundreds of submitted products in a total of 13 categories. The criteria are innovation, effectiveness and design. The prize, designed in the shape of a diamond, is regarded by experts as the Oscar of the cosmetics industry.

Winner of the Readers' Vote
As every year, the festive award ceremony was held in the Kurhaus Wiesbaden, where Steffen Seifarth, Managing Director of Mäurer & Wirtz since 2017, accepted the coveted award: "The prize is a very special distinction for us, because the winner is decided by a panel of experts together with the (female) readers. The success of the fragrances of Acqua Colonia Intense is the result of the passionate work of our team, which collaborated on the project with renowned international perfumers."

Successful own brand
Mäurer & Wirtz launched Acqua Colonia in 2009 under the 4711 umbrella brand. With their contrasting cologne creations, the fragrances create special feel-good moments. The Acqua Colonia Intense collection is a modern, multi-faceted reinterpretation of traditional Eau de Cologne. Each of the four fragrances captures an emotional snapshot.
