Mäurer & Wirtz receives the quality seal for the third time in succession „audit berufundfamilie“
Mäurer & Wirtz is a family business now in the fifth generation – and so the manufacturer of fragrances and care products has set itself the goal of promoting the best possible balance between professional life and everyday family life for its employees. For the third time in succession, Mäurer & Wirtz has been awarded the "audit berufundfamilie" certificate for the conditions that it offers in this regard. The certificate is awarded by the Board of Trustees of berufundfamilie Service GmbH as a quality seal for a strategically designed HR policy that takes family life into account. Out of a total of 106 organisations that were honoured, only around twenty percent, like Mäurer & Wirtz, have received three consecutive awards for their sustained commitment to a work-life balance.
A reliable employer – especially during the pandemic
“This year in particular, we are especially pleased about the continuation of the award because we have been committed to giving our employees security and support through our good conditions aimed at achieving a work-life balance, even in difficult times. During the pandemic we made our structures and working time models even more flexible. In future it will also be possible for employees to work from home for up to 40 percent of the working week. Following on from our flexitime model, training opportunities and part-time jobs including a job-sharing option, as well as offers for employees with children or relatives in need of care, we are continuously expanding our HR measures. As a family business, we aspire to reflect our DNA in our working conditions – and this is an ongoing priority for us ", said Yvonne Jussen, Director of Human Resources and company lawyer at Mäurer & Wirtz.
A multi-award-winning employer
Mäurer & Wirtz was first awarded the work and family audit certificate in 2015 for its commitment to improving the work-life balance of its staff. Since the first award, the coveted quality seal has been extended for the Stolberg family business by means of a successfully completed re-audit, which takes place every three years. In recent years, Mäurer & Wirtz has also been awarded the Fair Company seal by the Handelsblatt business newspaper and the Institute for Employment and Employability which promotes a fair working environment. This designation rewards companies that make a special commitment to meeting the expectations and values of career starters and young professionals and offering a fair, attractive working environment. The Stolberg company is also a signatory of the Diversity Charter which promotes an appreciative, prejudice-free and diverse working environment. The medium-sized company was recently honoured again in October 2021 for its outstanding support of its employees: A study by the women's magazine BRIGITTE in cooperation with the personnel marketing agency Territory Embrace concluded that Mäurer & Wirtz is one of the best employers for women.
