Change of leadership at MÄURER & WIRTZ

Stephan Kemen appointed as new CEO

In Stephan Kemen (37), MÄURER & WIRTZ has found a manager from within its own ranks.

Stolberg, 26 March 2020 – As a student, Stephan Kemen, originally from Aachen, held various positions at L’Oréal and LVMH in Düsseldorf. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration in 2010, he joined cosmetics company Coty as Junior Trade Marketing Manager. In 2012, he moved to the media group RTL Deutschland, where he managed communications for the VOX channel as Marketing Manager. In 2014, he joined MÄURER & WIRTZ as Global Brand Manager for the Baldessarini brand. After just three years, the now 37-year-old was responsible – initially as Director Brand Management and most recently as Chief Marketing Officer – for the overall management of all MÄURER & WIRTZ proprietary and licensed brands.

"During this time, he and his teams made a major contribution to the successful development of MÄURER & WIRTZ's licensed and proprietary brand portfolios. Most notably, the clear advances made by the company's two own brands 4711 and TABAC bear his signature," said Dr Hermann Wirtz, who will continue to act as Managing Partner at MÄURER & WIRTZ.

His predecessor, Steffen Seifarth, has terminated his contract at his own request and has offered to perform his duties as Managing Director and CEO of MÄURER & WIRTZ until the end of the contract term. After extensive consultation, the Advisory Board and the main shareholders have decided not to make use of this offer. "We bid farewell to Steffen Seifarth with gratitude and respect for all that he has achieved and wish him the very best for his future, both professionally and personally," said Hans-Reinhard Abels, Chairman of the Advisory Board and Personnel Committee.
