Product – A responsibility pillar at Mäurer & Wirtz

We produce high-quality and safe products

We want the responsible development of our products to contribute to safeguarding the next generation.

We care deeply about our social responsibility and the needs of our consumers. That is why dealing respectfully with people and resources is also part of our product development. Because we believe that it is only as a sustainably operating company that we can be successful in the long term and thus be able to contribute to safeguarding future generations.

Our value-based product development starts with the creative product idea, includes efficient production possibilities and continues through to optimised logistics to our customers and the finished product on the shelf. We base our decisions on measurable results.

Product: Our areas of focus

1. Product quality and safety

Area of focus: Product quality and safety

- We meet the highest safety standards for our formulations

Our formulations comply with the requirements of the REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and the Cosmetics Regulation (EC) 1223/2009. This means it is already safe to use our cosmetic products. The legal regulations are based on scientific facts and the evaluation of independent experts and guarantee maximum safety for our consumers.

- We trust in quality

We have our own quality management department at the production site in order to ensure that our products meet the highest possible standards of quality and safety. From receipt to finished product, our products are tested according to defined criteria in order to provide the perfect fragrance experience to our customers.

- Our products are of excellent quality

The quality of our products is one of the most important prerequisites for our customers' satisfaction. We use KPIs to measure them and continuously improve them. Adhering to good manufacturing practice (GMP) is fundamental. Our compliance with this standard is confirmed annually by external, independent audits. We are therefore especially pleased to have received the official GMP certificate. The ISO 22716 standard includes guidelines and practices that must be adhered to and observed in the production of cosmetic products so that what we deliver to our customers is of a consistently flawless and proven quality.

2. Responsible product development

Area of focus: Responsible product development

- We produce vegan formulations

It is our constant endeavour to continuously question and improve the existing and future product portfolio to meet the requirements that have changed in the pursuit of sustainability. Inspired by our customers' increasing awareness of vegan and animal friendly products, we want to offer 100% vegan fragrances in the future and make a positive contribution by avoiding animal ingredients. We already have many vegan fragrances in our range today.

- We have a code of conduct

We care deeply about the wellbeing of everyone along the entire supply chain. That is why we have developed a code of conduct for suppliers and business partners, which includes, among other things, observance of human rights, occupational health and safety and ensuring fair working conditions. Compliance with this code of conduct is the foundation of any collaboration with us.

3. Made in Germany

Area of focus: Made in Germany

- We produce in Germany

The production sites of our entire core range are all in Germany. Our fragrances and products are produced there in accordance with the highest 'Made in Germany' production and quality standards.

4. We value raw material transparency

Area of focus: raw material transparency

Everyone should have the right to know what's in their favourite product. That is why we list all ingredients on the packaging in order of their proportion according to the Cosmetics Regulation. The names of the individual ingredients are based on the INCI (International Nomenclature for Cosmetic Ingredients) and are uniform throughout the EU.
