Werner Baldessarini – trailblazer, designer, fragrance creator, manager and icon of the fashion industry. A man who, from an early age, asked himself: “What separates the men from the boys?”
Answering this question would later become the defining principle of his creative life. Whether we’re talking fashion, fragrances or day-to-day lives – an awareness of quality and sense of pragmatism were always part of his winning formula.
“Have your luxury, by all means, but let it be tongue-in-cheek. Luxury alone is boring.”
As the CEO of Hugo Boss, he led the company to international success. He chose to leave whilst at the top of his game, deliberately opting for the luxury of time; getting reacquainted with everything he enjoyed, as well as developing fashion and fragrances bearing his own name.
“It’s no use being beautifully dressed when you’re wearing the wrong fragrance.”
The Baldessarini Fragrances range, founded in 2002, bears his handwriting to this day. This is what makes his scents stand out from the crowd: they have depth, and yet they never impose themselves. They are at once discreet and lasting, thus emphasising the wearer’s own character. What’s more, they contain the highest-quality aromatic substances, underscoring a man’s best qualities.
Uniformity and superficiality are anathema to Werner Baldessarini. What counts for him is individuality. Individuality of character, as well as in fashion and scents.
„The scent of success is individuality – noticeable, resolute but restrained!”
This is the attitude that won him the Fragrance Foundation’s personality prize and which one can detect in the eight elegant symphonies of fragrances, all of which do justice to his motto: “Separates the men from the boys.”
